Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing

PVTU is again participating in this veteran’s program at the VA Hospital in Leeds, MA. Chapter member and past officer, Tom LeBlanc has again donated his time to run the program, which teaches fly tying, casting, and fly-fishing. The main instructor this year is chapter officer Gary Metras. The classes meet in the evenings on the second Wednesday of the month. Participants vary in number, age, and military experience. After each session, the veterans express their gratitude to our volunteer efforts on their behalf, and always tell us, no matter how difficult it may have been, how much they enjoyed the activity. In this photo from January, Tom is surrounded by veterans of the Vietnam to Afghanistan Wars.
